Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I want to hear a really good triumphant story! I am ready for it! I want to hear a story of victory! I want to hear a story that causes us to jump up out of our seats and run into the streets with shouts of joy, “HE IS RISEN! HE HAS RISEN INDEED! Do you know a story like that?
I would hope that we have within us many triumphant stories. Maybe one of you has triumphed over cancer. Maybe one of you went from rags to riches. Maybe one of you achieved something that you never thought possible. Maybe one of you triumphed over substance abuse. It does not matter; I want to hear them all! I want to hear your stories as you welcome Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday!
“So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord– the King of Israel!’ (John 12:13)
I want to hear your stories of triumph as we remember all that Jesus has done!
“That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:37-38)
I want to hear your stories of loss and hardship!
“There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus between them.” (John 19:18)
I want to hear your story of resurrection!
“Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself.´ (John 20:6-7)
I know you have a story, because we share HIS story. Sometime in our past we died and rose again. Somewhere in our past we realized that even in the midst of grief and despair, there is hope of a new life, a new season, a new way of living. Please share with me your resurrection story below. FOR HE IS RISEN! HE HAS RISEN INDEED!
I thank God for you,
Pastor Kathy Nealand
